‘My Anchor Map' for Summarising, Recapping and Embedding Learning (Door of Understanding Resource)
Use ‘My Anchor Map’ template to support children with tracking their learning progression through creating a reference sheet.
This resource supports inclusive classrooms for all children and supports the Door of Understanding as part of the Open Door Approach.
Anchor Maps are a flexible and purposeful classroom resource that give children a reliable point of reference throughout a lesson or topic. Whether pre-made by you, the teacher, or co-constructed with children during the lesson input, an Anchor Map captures the key information, vocabulary, processes, or ideas that learners need to access the learning confidently.
Anchor Maps reduce cognitive overload by freeing up brain space, allowing children to focus their thinking on the task itself.
How could this resource be used?
- To support self-assessment and confidence building.
