Sneak Peek of the STEPS Approach:

The STEPS approach is all about breaking tasks and routines down into simple, manageable steps to help children feel less overwhelmed.

It’s designed to support children who struggle with following instructions, reduce anxiety, and build their independence.

The approach is practical and can be used across the whole school, from EYFS to Year 6, to give children a clear and consistent way to approach tasks, whether it’s a classroom routine or a bigger learning challenge.

STEPS includes things like step-by-step plans, visual resources, and tailored support to help every child succeed. It’s also about getting everyone on board—teachers, support staff, and families—so children get the same structure at school and home.

The aim is to make life easier for everyone while improving emotional regulation, classroom behaviour, and confidence. There are ready-made resources, training, and ideas to help schools get started and make it work smoothly.

Sneak Peek of the Wellbeing Leader Award:

Sneak Peek of the BIG Feelings Scale:

The BIG Feelings Scale is a simple, visual tool designed to help children recognise, understand, and express their emotions. It uses a numbered scale, from 1 to 5, to represent different intensity levels of feelings, with 1 being calm and 5 being very intense or overwhelming.

The scale makes it easier for children to identify where they are emotionally and communicate this to adults, especially when words feel too hard to find. By using the BIG Feelings Scale regularly, children can develop emotional awareness, practise self-regulation, and learn strategies to manage their emotions before they escalate.

It’s a practical tool for classrooms and at home, providing a consistent, non-judgmental way to check in and support children’s emotional wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Nook:

The Wellbeing Nook is home to digital classroom tools that are perfect for promoting a calm, emotionally regulated and emotionally literate classroom! These tools are here to give children skills to last a lifetime. The Wellbeing Nook is a one-stop Hub of resources for EYFS, KS1 and KS2 ranging from interactive whiteboard games, mindfulness tools and ‘Moments of Magic’ (5-minute lessons to bring a sense of calm).
