'Balancing Our Stack of Feelings': Coping with BIG Feelings and Emotions (Pancake Day themed)

Balancing Our Stack of Feelings helps us to consider how to balance out our BIG feelings with coping strategies with the theme of Pancake Day.
When we experience BIG feelings, it can feel like they are stacking up and becoming heavy! This can feel overwhelming and like a weight is on our shoulders holding us down. We can balance out our BIG feelings by using Coping Strategies to help us to feel calm and in control.
Coping Strategies is a crucial aspect of overcoming our worries. Every individual will have their own unique coping mechanisms which work for them, but it is important not only to explore them, but to also practice them.
How can this resource be used?
- To support children 1:1 in therapy sessions, such as CBT sessions or ELSA sessions.
- To normalise talking about BIG feelings and ways of coping with them to balance them out.
